Gairloch amenities include - Hotels, a fine choice of restaurants, shops, museum and bank, along with a well used leisure centre.  The village has its own Primary and High School.  There is also a commercial and public harbour.  The Highland capital - Inverness, is about one and half hours drive, across some of the most picturesque landscapes in the Highlands

The village is well served by the local well appointed shop, Poolewe also has a hotel, coffee shop, swimming pool and community markets, as well as Inverewe Gardens restaurant, gift shop and information centre.
